ETO recently partnered with [First Australians Capacity Development Association a not for profit association formed in order to

  1. Alleviate the distress, poverty and disadvantage experienced by the unemployed, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, by assisting and empowering them through the provision of services, support, training and advice to enable them to participate successfully and sustainably in paid employment; and
  2. Relieve Indigenous unemployment arising from lack of skills or opportunities to participate in the paid workforce and to provide means to assist Indigenous people fulfil their individual potential, take charge of their own lives, build individual capacity and increase self-esteem through success in seeking and retaining employment

FACDA applaud the Generation One commitment to obtaining 50000 Indigenous jobs. FACDA and ETO will work on the practicalities of ensuring Indigenous Australians fully benefit from these jobs FACDA will work with mainstream agencies JSAs, GTOs, CDEPs, ACCs, and IEP Panel Members etc. to prepare 50000 Indigenous jobseekers to be job ready for these jobs and to ensure that if required they all have an accredited trained professional mentor available to them to ensure ongoing job retention an career development.
