How ETO Engages with the Employment Services Industry (ESI)

Our Business - Vision

Our vision is for all people to realise their full potential and have the opportunity to fully participate in all labour markets and Australian society.

Our Business - Mission

ETO engages with, employers and the employment services industry to build capability to ensure that they broker employment solutions and services that expand choice for all jobseekers and provide opportunities that result in successful recruitment and retention outcomes that build individual capability, improve productivity and increase profit.

Our Business – Invitation

ETO wants to engage with Employment service organisations to broker successful employment solutions especially for the special needs groups Jobseekers e.g. mature, indigenous, and people with disabilities.

ETO specialise in assisting employers to recruit and retain special needs Jobseekers.

ETO are committed to improving the quality and number of Apprenticeships/Traineeships and general employment opportunities available to special needs jobseekers. This is achieved by assisting private and public sector organisations through a number of proven ETO designed and delivered innovative programs including pre-employment training recruitment and mentoring support services designed to directly impact current poor retention outcomes.

ETO specialise in Special needs jobseekers because these jobseekers (including apprentices and trainees) must cope with greater personal, social and cultural pressures than most of their peers. These pressures place them at greater risk of failing to complete their accredited training program or retaining their employment. Early intervention at all points of the Jobseeker process will help them to succeed in living and working, learning to adapt and cope with change, and work with cross cultural difference where appropriate.

ETO provide:

  1. Support services that assist employment Service industry organisations e.g. Job Networks, CDEPs/IECs, AAACs, GTOs etc to build staff capability (see below) to achieve their contracted outcome targets star ratings etc, and
  2. Provide services on a fee for service basis direct to clients/jobseekers of these organisations (see below).

2. Fee for service training for clients

ETO can assist your organisation achieve its outcomes via the ETO Employment services industry support program. This program has 3 key elements:

The ETO Pre-employment preparation training provides special needs employees with the skills required to cope with other issues while succeeding in a mainstream dominant culture influenced workplace. It also uses a cultural component where necessary to ensure that participants can cope with cultural difference. This is often essential for migrants and indigenous Australian participants. It is cost neutral to Job Networks in that it is paid for from the JobSeeker account.

The ETO Job Placement service targets, supports and informs potential employers who have made an informed business decision to employ special needs Jobseekers e.g. they may be targeting mature or Indigenous Australians etc. The participants are fully supported in their induction, and employers are offered support and cultural awareness training for other staff to ensure they understand the pressures these new employees must deal with. ETO Job Placement is available to all pre-employment job ready course graduates. ETO low overheads ensure they can place these jobseekers at a cost competitive rate as compared with or below Job Network placement costs.

The ETO structured mentor relationship is designed to support the new employee, providing the tools and support they need to deal effectively with these pressures ensuring they retain the job and complete any required training. ETO mentoring maximises Job Network outcome payments by ensuring that jobseekers retain their jobs. ETO mentoring is cost neutral to Job Networks as the mentoring support is paid for from the JobSeeker account.

In some instances Job Networks and IECs can use the jobseeker and Training accounts to purchase ETO support services to provide your clients (Jobseekers) with the ability to find and retain a job.
